Gangs Of Sherwood Story

Gangs of Sherwood is a cool twist on the Robin Hood tale, transforming the classic English folklore into a futuristic dystopia while staying true to the essence of the original story. By misusing the power of the mysterious Philosopher’s Stone, the Sheriff of Nottingham has amassed an overwhelming arsenal of state-of-the-art soldiers and airships, which he uses to oppress the good people of Sherwood and beyond.

To break this ironclad code, Robin of Locksley and his former companions Marian, Brother Tuck and Little John must do what they do best: rob the rich and give to the poor, helping them destroy the Horde in return. As the Sheriff of Nottingham, you will restore peace to the land.

Gangs Of Sherwood Gameplay

Gangs of Sherwood - Review — Analog Stick Gaming

Gangs of Sherwood is a third-person cooperative action-adventure game designed for up to four players who join in taking down the Sheriff of Nottingham’s vile regime. Far from being heavy and sluggish, and more than a Devil May Cry, Gangs of Sherwood offers decidedly ferocious, hyper-kinetic, combo-focused melee and ranged combat that is sure to appeal to fans of Capcom’s stylish demon combat series. Recognized.

Gangs of Sherwood builds on this violent adventure, with cooperative play tied directly to the action thanks to the four entirely different characters on offer. Each playable hero offers a mix of melee abilities, ranged abilities, tank-style abilities, support buffs and more, so players who know how to combine and make the most of these abilities will be essential to taking down the various bosses and defeating the foes in Gangs of Sherwood’s challenging encounters.

When it comes to progression, Gangs of Sherwood doesn’t disappoint either. It fits right into the good old Robin Hood tale of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Not only can you spend the various amounts of money you accumulate on numerous equipment upgrades to improve durability and damage, but you can also donate your loot to the poor residents of Sherwood, unlocking a variety of unique ability upgrades in the process. Finally, you can also collect special shards during battles, which can further enhance and customize the damage of your attacks, giving you plenty of room to maximize your playstyle.

Gangs Of Sherwood Characters

Gangs of Sherwood no Steam

The heart of Gangs of Sherwood is perhaps the four very different characters you can choose from: Robin of Locksley, Marian, Friar Tuck, and Little John. Each one essentially plays a functional role within the group and helps each other out, so here’s everything you need to know about each playable character in Gangs of Sherwood and their missions.

Robin Of Locksley

The ranged specialist of the group, Robin can string together combinations from afar thanks to his rapid-fire bow. Robin also has a variety of attacks that have different results in combat, such as throwing enemies into the air or exploding a group of enemies at once. As a unique ability, our Robin can also summon a special “Star Arrow” that appears in combat under certain conditions and can increase the damage of existing projectiles. Robin’s Rebel ability also allows him to perform special attacks without penalty for a short period of time, while his Rebel special instincts allow him to reduce the damage he takes and increase the damage he puts out over a period of time.

Marian

Marian is a versatile assassin, capable of dealing great damage both in close combat with his devastating chainsword or at long range with his trusty throwing knives. Marian is a well-rounded fighter, to say the least. Marian’s special ability includes a magnetic dagger that sticks to an enemy and creates a massive explosion damaging all nearby enemies, while her Rebel abilities are all focused on increasing damage output and allowing Marian to pile on even more magnetic daggers as she does so against helpless opponents. For those looking for a balance between ranged and melee attack styles, look no further than Marian.

Friar Tuck

Friar Tuck is a giant battering ram, a slow-moving melee specialist that confidently balances his unique high-damage attacks with damage absorption capabilities. In regards to the latter, Friar Tuck can use his giant shield to protect himself and his friends from attacks, while his considerable strength allows this brute cleric to remove heavy obstacles, thereby allowing the party to access new areas for loot. Friar Tuck’s abilities are focused on slow attacks that create area-style shock waves that affect other enemies, while his special ability that allows him to taunt stronger foes and draw their attention will come in handy in the gang’s more difficult encounters and boss fights. He will be a valuable asset in Sherwood.

Little John

Little John was once a NCO in the Nottingham Sheriff’s force, but now he has realized his mistakes and is looking to right them with a rage brawl. Little John is very good with a punch, to say the least. Not only can he fling his foes across the room with his fearsome steel fists, he can also shoot flames out of his foes, while also being strong enough to lift his foes and throw them into his traps. Little John’s special abilities all revolve around timing his fist attacks, which when properly timed will not only add to his normal damage but will also give him an overheat ability that can be used as a devastating ranged attack.
