As you begin your journey in Honkai: Star Rail, you first resolve a crisis on Herta Space Station involving the Antimatter Legion and Doomsday Beasts. After saving the planet, you board the Astral Express and embark on a journey to visit several planets to mitigate the influence of Stellaron.
Your second target is Jarilo-VI, a snowy planet where humanity has been pushed back to the city of Belobog. To bring peace back to Belobog, you must find the true culprit behind this crisis and defeat him.
Before You Reach Jarilo-VI
You must speak with Himeko at the end of the Herta Space Station story to board the Astral Express. Once on the Express you will meet Pom Pom, the conductor. There is a short quest to go to Dan Hen and March’s room and speak to them. If March is not in the room, return to the main lobby.
Now Pom Pom says the Express is ready to jump to the next planet. While everyone else straps in, March stands up and tries to keep his balance during the jump. Upon arriving on the planet, Velt will ask you to speak with Dan Heng. You will learn that the low temperature on the planet may be due to Stellaron.
Dan Heng and March 7th will accompany you on this planet. You will have a nice conversation between the three characters before heading to Jarilo-VI.
Entering The Planet
Upon arriving on Jarilo-VI, Dan Heng says that the crisis here may be difficult to resolve. However, March seems confident that she cannot be stopped, as Trailblazer has Stellaron and the other two characters also have special powers. Continue along the path and you will find Sampo hiding in the snowy mountains.
He will say that he was worried that you might be one of the Silvermane guards. Although he seems like a big deceiver at first glance, he has a charming personality. He mentions that the Silvermane guards have been sent to the front lines for some reason, which is important for the rest of the quest.
He also mentions that the only civilization on Earth lives in the city of Belobog, and that the Silvermane Guard are like a police force for this city. Sampo will then offer to guide you through the city, but your path will be blocked by a guard. After you defeat the first group of enemies, Cheetah will enter the battle and you will have to fight him.
When you try to defeat Gepard, he will find out that you are not an accomplice of Sampo, nor do you belong to Belobog. If you give him some photos, Cheetah will become interested and agree to introduce you to Belobog’s chief guardian. On the way, Cheetah will tell you his knowledge about Jarilo-VI.
About 700 years ago, the antimatter army set fire to the Earth and everything burned. At the same time, eternal freezing fell on the Earth from nowhere. Since then, Belobog has been the only city that survived the Crisis. A group of people calling themselves the Architects built Belobog and follow Qliphoth, the Aeon of Preservation.
Meeting The Supreme Guardian
If you follow Cheetah, he will take you to the entrance of Qliphoth Fortress, where the Supreme Guardian Kokolia Rand resides. Cheetah will take you to the fortress, where you will see Kokolia talking to Bronya. The latter seems quite upset about something. After Cheetah also leaves, Kokolia will ask you the reason for your visit.
You will have a conversation with her where she says that she remembers people like you visiting this planet in the past. The Trailblazers then discuss how Stellaron has affected Belobog and Jarilo VI as a whole. Once Dan Hen says that he can seal Stellaron, Kokolia will arrange accommodations for the night.
Before heading to your assigned hotel, you will need to visit three different locations. In the first two areas you’ll meet Pella and Serval, and in the third you’ll see an NPC fighting guards to get into a restricted area. Afterwards you’ll rest at the Goethe Hotel and prepare for the next morning.
As you sleep you’ll hear the voice of teenage Cocolia speaking to Stellaron again. The next morning begins a world of difficulty for the Trailblazers.
The Betrayal Begins
The Trailblazers arrive at the hotel in the morning to be greeted by many Silvermane guards and only Bronya herself. Dan Heng understands that they are planning to arrest the Trailblazers and must not allow it under any circumstances. As soon as they see an opportunity, they rush past the guards and enter the restricted area through the portal of Fragmentum.
Bronya also follows Kokolia’s orders and decides to charge after the Trailblazers. In Fragmentum, you must find a way to escape without alerting your pursuers to your location. To progress, you must fight many monsters and open many doors. However, you end up walking into an enemy ambush, which triggers a fight with Bronya.
When you are close to defeating Bronya, a cutscene will be triggered in which Dan Hen and March 7th challenge each other to reveal their secret powers. However, before either can do anything, Sampo appears on the scene, throwing smoke bombs all over the place. The scene will switch to Cocolia speaking to Stellaron again.
She will mention that because of a certain “order”, many people have suffered and perished, and that the people of the Underworld will see her as a tyrant. Stellaron’s manipulation is clear at this point, and you realize that the Supreme Guardian himself stands between you and the resolution of Stellaron’s crisis.
The Journey Of Underground Belobog
You pass out from the smoke caused by Sampo and wake up in the hospital where you can talk to Natasha. She tells you that your condition is not serious and that you are ready to explore Underground Belobog. You also learn that Wildfire is like an underground Silvermane Guardian and will help you with your problem.
While talking to Natasha, you learn that many people have descended underground to search for Geomarow, the ore that keeps the city above ground warm. The humans considered it an honor to work in these mines before the mines were sealed off from the surface and all of the underground Silvermane Guardians disappeared.
As you start walking, you will see March talking to a group of kids, one of whom is Hook. These kids call themselves a group called “The Moles” and you will have to win their game of hide and seek to get information on Dan Heng’s location. Once you win the game, you will be taken to a battle arena.
In the arena, you will see Dan Heng fighting robots. Join him to defeat these enemies and continue the story. After your victory, find Sampo in the shadows of a building and try to interrogate him. He’ll make up a different story to somehow convince you not to hit him. Instead, he’ll try to convince you to meet the wildfire.
Follow the quest up a few flights of stairs and you’ll find Bronya in trouble. When you try to help her, Seele will intervene and save her. The Vagrants will run away as soon as they see them, leading to a very interesting back and forth between Bronya and Seele. Each will try to tell the other how their people suffered.
In the Great Mine, you will face off against a group of Vagrants who have taken over the area with hostility. Seele will also tell you that many of the mines underground have been destroyed by fragmentary corrosion. As you make your way deeper into the mines, you will find a device that will help you move forward.
At the hotel, Bronya decides to keep watch for the night, wondering what happened the last time you slept at the hotel. At night, you will again hear the conversation between Cocolia and Stellaron. He asks her to harm his daughter (Bronya) and says that she is waiting for them on the other side.
Since you can’t sleep, you decide to take a walk with Bronya. During your walk, you will encounter Seele and Natasha, who are talking about drugs in Rivet Town. The latter asks you to help Seele get medicine from Rivet Town, as it is overrun with Fragmentum monsters. Soul is still very hostile towards Bronya.
While searching for materials in Rivet Town, you will find that a boy named Eric risked his life to steal the materials. He says he needs a shield (currency) for his father, and Bronya gives him the badge she has as it can be bought at a good price. Eric leaves you with all the medical supplies while returning home.
When you come to the orphanage for supplies, you’ll discover that Bronya may have been a part of this orphanage before she was adopted by Cocolia as the next Supreme Guardian. Bronya also begins to doubt herself when she sees the suffering of the people underground, but Soul stops her and comforts her in Soul’s special way.
Once Natasha has been given the supplies, get Sampo’s help to go to the area where Svarog lives. Solve a small puzzle to reach the area. As expected, the robot won’t let you in, so you’ll have to find Clara. Defeat the Blades Out of Space monster and save her, but she still refuses to take you to Svarog.
After Clara leaves, Dan Heng will mention that Svarog’s calculations may have been correct, but that he didn’t take into account some variables, the variable in question being the Precursor. After repairing the machine, catch up with Clara and tell her about the variables, and she will eventually agree to take you directly to Svarog.
Unfortunately, Svarog will say that all of humanity’s attempts to find Stellaron were born out of greed. If you want to make your point, you’ll have to fight the big robot. This will be a fairly difficult battle, but Sampo will bring Natasha to help you along the way. However, this will upset Svarog even more.
After you are defeated and Clara makes a special request, Svarog will reveal to you the location of Stellaron. A communication from Svarog will tell you the following:
- An ancient researcher had already discovered that Stellaron was the cause of the eternal freeze, but The Guardian refused to publish the report at the time due to the uproar it might cause.
- We also learn that one of Belobog’s most famous Guardians, Alisa Rand, was the cause of the eternal freeze when she activated Stellaron.
- Many years later, a young researcher asks Stellaron’s discoverer why he can’t publish his findings. The old researcher will again tell you that if they can find a way to destroy Stellaron, it will all be worth it.
- Eventually, we learn that another Guardian has found the robots left behind by the original researcher. She asked the guards to retrieve the information from inside the robot and reset it.
Once the transmission plays, Natasha will ask you to talk to her and she will reveal that she is none other than the leader of Wildfire. She will also mention that Seele wants to accompany the Trailblazers back to the surface in their attempt to end Kokoria’s oppression. The Underground Arc will soon be over.
Solving The Stellaron Crisis
On your last day in Underground Belobog, you will notice that Bronya has already left to confront the Watchers. The whole group then decides to follow her example, but it’s not an easy journey. Before returning to the surface, you’ll see a conversation between Cocolia and Bronya, who takes her to find out the truth. You’ll see that Bronya is also starting to hear Stellaron.
Once on the surface, talk to Serval. She’ll sneak you into the store before you’re spotted by the Silver Mane guards. We learn that Serval was one of the Architects, but was kicked out by Cocolia and is no longer on her side. We also learn that she was pretty close to Cocolia before she started to change.
Serval tells us that to get to where Cocolia took Bronya, we need to go through the Silvermane Guard Restricted Area and a bunch of Fragmentum Monsters. She also mentions that we got close to the guards in the restricted area, so we can get past them. However, before you can leave, Cheetah comes into the store.
While wandering around the store, he nearly discovers a hidden member. However, Serval stops him and he respects her boundaries. As soon as Gepard leaves, the group enters the restricted area. Serval ushers in front of a group of guards, but the guards outside the central control room refuse.
Serval will try to get Dan’s permission, but Dan will catch her lying red-handed. This will trigger a fight between the Trail Blazers and Dan. After defeating Dan, you will get the key you need, but the alarm will sound and the guards will stay on guard. When you reach the main gate, you will again fight Cheetah.
After defeating him, he will show you the letter that Bronya left in the basement. Cheetah will eventually side with you and let you into Cocolia, but Serval will stay behind this time, even though she wanted to see Stellaron herself. From here begins your final journey to resolve the crisis in Stellaron.
As you try to find your way to Cocolia and Bronya, thanks to the Fragmentum, you will see many memories of their conversations. These memories reveal the following:
- In the first echo, Cocolia will state that Alisa Rand led the first army against the Antimatter Corps in this place. She will state that Belobog must be headed for destruction to fulfill Stellaron’s promise.
- In the second echo, Kokolia despises both Ion Qliphoth and the previous Guardians, as she was unable to see the future predicted by Stellaron.
- Kokolia starts making evil noises in the third echo, which occurs where Alisa Rand fought. You will learn that Alisa’s wish was the trigger for the eternal freeze.
When you reach the fourth echo, you will find out that Kokolia has detected your presence. You will need to fight the echo to progress in the quest. They are eventually able to reach the top of Everwinter Hill, where Cocolia tries to force Stellaron’s way of thinking on Bronya. The group stops them, but they must fight the real Cocolia, who has Stellaron.
First, they must fight a series of Fragmentum monsters while a giant machine attacks them. After defeating three waves of enemies, the “outside help” that Himeko mentioned arrives and destroys the machine’s arm. This leads to a great cutscene where Trailblazer reaches the top of the robot with everyone’s help.
However, you have no chance of winning this battle, as you are alone against Cocolia herself. After your defeat, you will see Trailblazer being impaled and defeated, but the scene will switch to Trailblazer reaching another universe. This is the same universe you came from when you fought the Doomsday Beast on the Harta Space Station.
When you try to reach the middle, you will see some reminders of the changes in Cocolia when she made the wrong decisions towards Cheetah, Serval and finally Bronya. You will also see the point where Cocolia actually interacted with Stellaron and tormented the Silvermane Guardian. When you get to the middle, you will see a child.
This is the will of the guardian. They mention the fall of Belobog and the increase of Fragmentum over time. Once you say you’ll help, you’ll be asked to touch the Amber Light, the sword in the middle. This will give Trailblazer a new path and fighting style (Stay and Fire, respectively). Before you fight Cocolia again, you’ll see another great cutscene.
Except this time, you’ll actually get all the help you need. If you win, you’ll get to watch Cocolia get devoured by Stellaron while her daughter watches. Bronya will decide that she does not want to reveal the truth to the people of Belobog. Instead, she wants to tell everyone that Kokolia fought bravely against Stellaron and lost her life in the process.
Before finishing reading the story of Jarilo VI, Bronya will state that the Earth has been saved and can now slowly begin to rebuild. She will also reunite the Belobog and open a passage between the surface and underground. The Belobog still have a long way to go, and Vert stated that there is a slim chance that they will survive, but there is hope.
This concludes your second expedition as a Trailblazer and you return to the Astral Express for a rest.
The Solwarm Festival And The Debt Collector
After Belobog is given space to rebuild, Bronya sends a message inviting you to the Solworm Festival. You ask Dan Hen and Himeko to accompany you, but in the end it’s just March 7 and the Trailblazers. However, once you enter Belobog you quickly realize that this will not be an easy journey, as the IPC has spread all over the planet.
Here you will meet Topaz, who tells you that she is here to collect a debt levied on Jarilo VI by an IPC member during the first descent of Stellaron. They try to talk to Topaz directly, as the savior of all, but she won’t budge and says that she will definitely end the Yarilo VI project.
Later, Topaz meets with Svarog and explains that somewhere in Belobog there are thousands and thousands of state-of-the-art robots hiding and she wants to use this as a bargaining chip to convince IPC that Belobog is a worthwhile project. After hearing her story, Svarog agrees to help her and take her to this place.
Meanwhile, underground in Belobog, the IPC’s elite guards take control and show no mercy to the inhabitants. Fortunately, Seele, Trailblazer and March are able to quickly resolve the issue and show their location. Bronya then sends you a message that something unexplainable has happened on the surface.
Upon returning to Qliphoth Fortress, Bronya shows you a heartfelt message from Topaz, mentioning how the IPC saved their home planet and how they negotiated the best deal for Belobog. At this point, Bronya is ready to accept the offer, but feels that the opinions of other Belobogians should be taken into consideration. So she sends you out to gather votes.
Unfortunately, the vote ended in a tie, and the decision went back into Bronya’s hands. Just as you’re about to accept the offer, Himeko arrives in Belobog with new information. She states that only 63 percent of planets captured by IPC are saved, but Topaz has an 80 percent success rate. These are some important points to keep in mind before accepting the offer.
Bronya refuses this offer and asks the Trailblazers to hold off Topaz until they can gather the Belobogians. To do this, they must fight off a group of IPC thugs, but just before they begin fighting Topaz, Bronya interrupts them and asks them to come along to see what the Belobogians can do for themselves.
Bronya takes Topaz to a construction site, where they witness the robot that defeated Kokoria, the Machine of Creation. Apparently, this was the only machine created by the Belobog people themselves, and not the IPC. Topaz agrees to leave the Belobog in Bronya’s hands, and the Trailblazers offer to help make a deal with the IPC leader.
At the end, we even get a little hint that we’ll meet Aventurine in Penacony.
